Measurements
NOSE: MEASURE FROM THE EDGE TO EDGE INCLUDING THE RAIL SKIN
WIDE POINT: MEASURE THE BOARDS WIDEST POINT INCLUDING RAIL SKINS. *THE BEST WAY IS TO PUT THE BOARD FLAT ON THE FLOOR WITH ONE RAIL AGAINST THE
WALL, MEASURE FROM THE WALL TO THE OUT SIDE OF THE OPPOSITE RAIL.
NOSE TO WIDE POINT: AFTER DETERMINING THE WIDE POINT, MEASURE FROM THE NOSE TO THE WIDE POINT, ALL BOARDS HAVE A WIDE POINT THE EXTENDS A FEW INCHES, SO MAKE THE MEASUREMENT TO THE BEGINNING OF THE WIDE POINT.
TAIL: MEASURE TAIL FROM THE POINT WERE THE TOP AND BOTTOM RAILS MEET TO THE
OPPOSITE SIDE.
THICKNESS: PUT THE BOARD ON A FLAT TABLE WITH THE DECK FACING UP, THEN PLACE A BOOK OR OTHER LONG FLAT OBJECT ON THE DECK AND MEASURE FROM THE TABLE TO THE EDGE OF THE BOOK.
Rail Designs
Transitional Rails: This rail configuration allows the rail of the board to gentle slice into the face of the wave rather than shearing off water inhibiting the speed of the board plus throwing water in your face like existing rail designs. The rounded transition from nose to 50/50 rail half way down the board allows a clean edge to be maintained for super wave holding ability and turning response. Having this rounded rail system also allows the rider to turn more efficiently on critical sections of the wave, especially on steep take off and vertical ascents. The rail will not bite on the upper area of the board like conventional rails, which do and cause the rider to nose dive or dramatically lose speed when landing or during other critical maneuvers.
Tails
BATAIL GIVES YOU GOOD HOLDING POWER AND PROJECTION.THE POINTS OF THE BATAIL ALLOW THE RAIL TO SIT IN THE WAVE FACE FOR CONTROL. THE ROUND AREA OF THE TAIL INCREASES MANEUVERABILITY AND SPEED. THIS TAIL DESIGN IS IDEAL FOR PRONE RIDING IN ALL WAVE CONDITIONS.
CRESCENT TAIL GIVES YOU THE MOST CONTROL OF ALL TAIL DESIGNS. THIS TAIL IS IDEAL FOR BEGINNERS, POWERFUL WAVES AND DROP KNEE RIDING.
ROUNDED SQUARE TAIL IS VERY MANEUVERABLE GIVING YOU THE ABILITY TO DO QUICK MANEUVERS.THIS BOARD IS IDEAL FOR ROLLOS, ARS’S AND SPINNERS.THIS TAIL DESIGN IS FOR PRONE RIDING IN SMALL TO MEDIUM SIZE WAVES.
Stringers
Stringers help to increase the longevity of boards. Made of carbine fiber tube 3/4" in diameter The stringer starts about 10 inches down from the nose.
Single stringers are placed in the center of the board.
Two stringers are placed with one on each side about 14 inches apart and parallel to the rails.
Nose Ridge
Raised ridge across the deck where place your hand on the nose.
Bottom Designs
CHANNELS:CHANNELS ARE DESIGNED TO GIVEMORE CONTROL IN THE STEEPEST MOST POWERFUL PART OF THE WAVE,ALLOWING HARDER TURNS IN THE POWER POCKET AND GREATER BURSTS OF SPEED OUT OF THESE ZONES.ALL BSD CHANNELS ARE DESIGNED WITH A SMOOTH AND EVEN FADE FROM THE BEGINNING OF THE CHANNEL TO IT'S DEEPEST POINT.THIS HYDRODYNAMIC OR "SMOOTH WATER ENTRY" DESIGN REDUCES TURBULENCE, RESULTING IN MORE OVERALL SPEED, CONTROL, AND ACCELERATION.
FLAT BOTTOM: GOOD FOR SMALL WAVES AND DROP KNEE.
Rail Colors
A Pinline is the yellow inside rail skin in this PIC. Available on standard rails only.
